The 托罗保健 grant provides assistance to students who are struggling with a personal crisis or an unforeseen situation. Qualified students are rendered assistance in the form of single, one-time awards. The 托罗保健 funding is not intended to provide ongoing relief for recurring expenses, and awards are not loans that students are expected to repay. The value of the award will range in response to the needs of the student and the availability of funding. Typical awards range up to $1,000 per student. Students may not receive more than one award unless there are extenuating circumstances.
资格
Be an enrolled student during the current academic year. Open University students are not eligible.
Be able to demonstrate urgent financial need with supporting documentation.
Remain committed to working on an action plan with a staff member.
Experience an unforeseen emergency/crisis that impacts student success such as:
Travel/transportation/commuting expenses
首页lessness and needing help paying for a one-time housing fee, deposit, or rent
Books or other essential academic belongings being stolen
Suddenly losing childcare and inability to continue attending school
Problems affording basic needs such as food, housing, hygiene, etc.
Being a victim of a crime and being impacted financially
Other personal emergencies
If you are a recipient of the Middle Class Scholarship (MCS), a CARE coordinator will ask you to speak to 金融援助, as the 托罗关怀补助金 may affect your financial aid.

Once submitted, you'll receive a confirmation message.
Your application will be assigned to a CARE coordinator who will reach out to schedule a 20-30 minute intake meeting. This meeting allows us to be more familiar with your situation and collect any additional info.
Most students are required to submit verification documents to their assigned coordinator with Toro ID # (ex. 012345678).
Following your intake meeting, you will be contacted via email about the status of your grant application.
The process can take up to 1-2 weeks after documents have been submitted and you've met with a CARE coordinator.

Am I eligible for the 托罗关怀补助金 if I am not enrolled in the current term/semester?
No. Students are only eligible to apply for the term they are currently enrolled in.
2023年夏天: If you are not enrolled in the summer term, you are not eligible for the basic needs grant. If you would like to speak with a coordinator regarding eligibility, please contact the 托罗保健 team.

How is the 托罗关怀补助金 disbursed?
Grants are awarded through 金融援助. Once 金融援助 disburses your 托罗关怀补助金, you should receive your funds within a few business days if you are enrolled in direct deposit with 金融援助 (depending on your bank, it could be sooner or later). If you are not enrolled in direct deposit, a check will be mailed to the address you have on file on My基督教社会联盟DH portal. We encourage students to enroll in direct deposit with Student Financial Services.
